Coventry Synagogue, Barras Lane

This is a late Victorian Synagogue and Rabbi’s House in Barras Lane, Spon End. The building was designed by Birmingham architect Thomas Naden in the romaneque style and was opened in September 1870. The first official words spoken as its doors opened for the first time were "Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will enter them and praise the Lord". It closed in 2003.

It is currently disused and suffering from a worsening dry-rot outbreak in the basement which will lead to the eventual collapse of the floor. It is a Grade II Listed Building.
